Licence Controller Qualification

This is an open entry course designed for those working in, or intending to work in the hospitality industry. In order to apply for a General or Club Manager’s Certificate you are required to hold the unit standards that make up the LCQ.

LCQ stands for Licence Controller Qualification. It is a certificate issued by the local council that you have the knowledge of the NZ Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act (2012). It also attests that you have the host responsibility skills for the role and allows you to be a manager of a licensed premise.

Our programme will get you familiar with the conditions needed to achieve the NZQA unit standards 4646 or 16705 so you can appropriately apply for an LCQ certificate.

PROGRAMME CONTENT INCLUDES:

  • Unit 4646 – Demonstrate knowledge of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 and its implications for licensed premises.
